The object of our organization is:
A. to develop and maintain a greater mission consciousness among the women of
the LCMS Indiana District through mission education, mission inspiration, and
mission service
B. to gather funds for mission grants either directly sponsored or approved by
LCMS Indiana District Boards, especially those for which no adequate provisions
have been made in LCMS Indiana District budgets
C. to encourage participation at all levels of the LWML structure.

Based on the Biblical account of the widow’s mite (Luke 21:1–4), the Mite Box is intended for regular contributions of “mites” — offerings above and beyond the support given to congregations and the LCMS. When Mite Box contributions are combined nationally, they amount to millions of dollars that fund district and national mission grants and implement the LWML program.
Mite Boxes have changed in color and design over the years, but what has never changed is the dedication of freely given offerings for the purpose of reaching out to others with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
My position presides over business of the LWML Indiana District working together with the Executive Committee to fulfill the Mission of the LWML. I appoint committee members and approve mite donations sent to LWML for mission grants. I work with the various committees to offer events that serve our Lord and nurture our women’s growth in His Word.
We love the LWML and encourage others to do the same. I am so pleased to be working with such a wonderful group of ladies and
Pastoral counselors during this biennium.
Of all the committees and boards on which I have served, I am now serving on my most favorite. Missions have always had a big place in my heart and having made 12 mission trips to Guatemala really reinforced that love.
Being able to introduce others to the joys of LWML through the district conventions and the Ruth Armel Scholarships has been a blessing.
Ladies, please continue to serve the Lord with gladness. Your collective outpouring of creative, beautiful activities for His kingdom, is amazing.
